About

Alessandro Ajó was born In Milan in 04/12/1994. In 2017 he completed his Bachelor’s of Science at the University of Milano-Bicocca in Biotechnology and after, he decided to move into the USA for complete his Master of Science in Biotechnology with a concentration in Nanomedicine at Northeastern University in Boston. At Northeastern, he worked at Webster’s lab focusing the work with the selenium nanoparticles for both antibacterial activity and cure of brain cancer. Alessandro in 2019 worked for one year in a pharmaceutical company, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, in Boston where he was involved within the Material and Innovation group for a project related to nanoparticles for oral delivery. Terminated his period at Takeda, he received a scholarship at Luisa De Cola’s lab in Strasbourg “Laboratoire de Chimie et des Biomatériaux Supramoléculaires” and then moved to Milan to start his PhD in Pharmaceutical Science with the supervision of Prof.ssa De Cola in a project “injectable hybrid hydrogels for a local chemotherapy or tumor specific resection”. Alessandro will spend a period of 6 months at the University of San Diego with supervisor Michael Sailor to increase his skills and knowledge in the drug delivery and hydrogel area.
